Paul D. Cardin

Meet Special Agent Paul D. Cardin
The President of Wheat Communications is Paul Cardin. Mr. Cardin practiced public accounting for almost 30 years. It is this experience in consulting with small business that will give him better insight in developing an Internet strategy for your business.
After he retired from public accounting, he consulted with national pro-family organizations and law enforcement in the fight against child pornography and obscenity on the Internet. During that time, he:
- Became a recognized expert in the area of Internet distribution systems of child pornography and obscenity;
- Wrote a White Paper on the subject that was used in arguments in the landmark First Amendment court case involving the Computer Decency Act, which was eventually decided by the US Supreme Court;
- Helped conduct CLEET Certified workshops for the National Association of Attorneys General and the National Association of District Attorneys;
- Worked with, and conducted workshops for, local law enforcement agencies across the country;
- Consulted with FBI offices and with both current and former Justice Department officials and attorneys;
- Advised state legislatures and legislators, particularly with regard to illegal material existing on, and being distributed through, university servers;
- Met with University of Oklahoma President David Boren and others, which resulted in the removal of child pornography from the OU servers;
- Consulted with various congressional committees, Congressmen and Senators;
- Received honors, awards and accolades from child welfare organizations around the country, elected officials at all levels of government and national pro-family organizations, including the Religious Alliance Against Pornography - an advocacy group made up of the leaders of major denominations representing well over 100 million people; and
- Devised what continues to be the single most effective non-prosecutorial strategy for removing child pornography and obscenity from the Internet.
Regarding that strategy - when he applied it to what was, at the time, the second largest Internet Service Provider in the country, he prevailed over their company attorneys and the American Civil Liberties Union and the Electronic Frontier Foundation, both of which organizations advised the ISP that Paul was correct in his legal arguments. The resulting removal of the illegal material in question by that ISP led to similar actions by Prodigy and Compuserve. Those combined actions remain as the largest single reduction of illegal material and the largest single shrinking of the distribution system in US history.
Conclusion:
In short, you may not want to ask Paul how to grow tomatoes, but if he says anything about the Internet, take it to the bank.
